Prof. Christopher Salter is one of three symposium chairs/co-curators for the annual Transmediale festival

One of the largest of international festivals for digital arts, transmediale 2012 focuses on the theme in/compatibile, a condition that arises when things are not working together. With transmediale 2012, we are investigating the productive and destructive sides of incompatibility as a fundamental condition for cultural production in times of crisisn annual festival and numerous cooperation projects articulate the relationship between technology and culture in non-linear, dynamic ways. Salter has co-curated with artistic director Kristoffer Gansing one stream of the large symposium which focuses on the incompatibililty within complex systems-focused on current issues of financial crisis, the military's connection with technology and security and new worldviews of vibrant matter. http://www.transmediale.de/festival/conference.
